Don’t Miss Cardini!!!
My summer and silence break is slowly coming to an end. Sorry for not keeping you updated. I was just too busy travelling, working and of course partying. Had a great time at festivals like Sonar in Spain, Melt in Germany and lots of small events between Amsterdam and Berlin. As you can see on the picture of DJ Kiki and friends at the Mobilee rooftop party in Barcelona that people in Europe started wearing Cairotic shirts. Really cool! Definitely need to design more stuff very soon.
I’m not back in Cairo yet but if you’ve been missing CINKY BEATS I can offer you at least a appropriate substitute: Jennifer Cardini from Kompakt Records Cologne will be spinning tomorrow (Thursday) at the French Cultural Centre in Cairo!!!

Departing at 6 am, for two days only, in the torrid June heat, a bus ride all the way to Nuweiba: it sounds like a recipe for disaster.
However, add 30 good friends on that same bus, a hint of energy drinks at 7 am, stir it with good music and you end up with an atomic cocktail: Cinky beach party. It is a bit like vodka, you need the right mixer, the perfect amount of ice and served with love!
So, after an epic 6 hour-long trip, we arrived to our camp which had already been set up with giganormous sound system thanks to Jimo. By 3 pm, cute little DJ Ramy ( I love you habibi) was launching the Cinky beach 2011 festival… Followed by a DJ lineup that could make most clubs in Cairo jealous: Sherif , Tito, Karim ( Please ADD THE OTHERS) .
Needless to say that by 2 a.m ( or was it 3 a.m, I would not remember… ) we all happily passed out in our huts, or on the beach, for those feeling chwoya romantic … enjoying the stars that we never get to see in Cairo.
Have a look at the pictures, they say it best : Cinky did Sinai …and was kinky too… I have to admit that I was slightly wild, but I don’t think I offended anyone… well, at least I have not been sent any hate messages so far… only love.

Healthier chowaya
Open bar parties .. oh my! The always dreaded morning after reminded me that I am not the young little puppy that I used to be… Cinky is hot, or is she not, but all these alcohol induced calories have to be burnt, and dancing alone won’t do it. So I went for a run. Now, let’s face it… exercising on the street in Cairo is a combination of parkour and maneuver in a military zone. Watch that pile of rubbish, oupsie someone parked on the side walk … side walk, what’ s that again… actually never heard the word in Arabic for it… that makes me think that the word might not exist, as it seems to be some sort of an alien concept! Brave enough, I wanted to run to the closest nedy, and generated a whole fan club on the way. I did not realize how popular I was: Boys taking pictures on their camera phones, old bawabs shouting “ya gamila”, and even some women muttering things I could not understand… I felt I had to stop running when a taxi driver drove into a passing by donkey and cart. Enough was enough! My beloved Cairo is NOT the most women - with hopping tits and dangling butt whilst jogging on the street - friendly. People on the street don’t seem to understand that exercise is good for you and that harassing someone is not OK. I really feel for all women, Egyptians or not, having to face the daily looks and comments, and that’s even when they are wearing baggy clothes or not doing anything whatsoever to attract attention. To say it simply: It sucks. Feeling healthier chowaya, but disturbed by the attention, I made it home, and was welcomed by my flat mate! Check out the lovely pic he took! Peace. Cinky

Saturday we enjoy a brunch and chill out on white sand beaches.
Since we want to keep it nice and intimate there will be only a limited number of tickets available (by invitation only).
